I thought I'd stop thinking about painting, and instead just do it. Yesterday I took the plunge, and thus, my fellow deviants, I present to you my first acrylic painting. Jerry's first steps to a life of galleries, champagne and elite artistry, and you are witnessing it front row. Harr.

I'm doing it with a twist, though... this is part of a series of purely CMYK-based paintings. That means cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, the basic colors of subtractive color mixing (plus the black). Though I am flirting with the idea to bring in some brown... we'll see.

Anyways, I never realized working on small details is so tricky with a brush, but perhaps I have the wrong brushes. In this case, I cheated with the small characters and the tentacle landscape thingies... I used pigment ink because I would have gone mad attempting the same thing with a brush. How the hell do you guys do it?

My major compositional mistake, as anyone can tell, is that you can barely see the three little yellow guys. I'm going to have to figure out a way to bring those out more, and, oh, I have an idea... I just need to go out and buy some white paint now. Anyways, enough from me, let me know what you think, critique is greatly appreciated!
